Our Staff

Dr. James R. Herrin, MD, FAAP

Dr. Herrin was trained at Texas A&M for his undergraduate Pre-Med degree in Zoology and he attended Medical School at UTMB – Galveston for his M.D. degree. He continued his residency training in Pediatrics at Oklahoma Children’s Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK., and became Board Certified in Pediatrics in 1981. He also served in the U.S. Air Force for 5 years as a pediatrician and learned to appreciate our fighting men and women who protect us all over the world. He started Herrin Pediatric Clinic in 1986 as a solo pediatrician in Conroe, TX. In 1995, he joined the Sadler Clinic as Pediatrician until 2005, when he again started Herrin Pediatric Clinic.

Dr. Herrin is happily married to Kathi and has 3 children: 2 boys and a daughter. He now has 5 grandchildren and enjoys watching them grow up as healthy, happy children in Tyler and Waco, TX. He also loves playing with them as their Pops, whenever he can. He also loves traveling and going on mission trips with his church. He loves to teach, both in the medical field and in his church.

Dr. Herrin has enjoyed caring for children and their families for over 30+ years and loves to help parents discover the privilege and joys of being parents. In today’s culture, many parents wonder where to turn when the “problems” of their children occur. Dr. Herrin feels honored to be a trusted partner in raising happy well-adjusted healthy children in the Conroe and Woodlands area.

Stefanie Mickey, CPNP

Stefanie grew up most of her life in The Woodlands, Tx. After graduating from The Woodlands High School, she obtained her undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. She worked in postpartum and NICU, mainly at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital.  As a certified breastfeeding clinician, she enjoys helping mothers during their breastfeeding journey.  After 12 years of nursing experience, Stefanie returned to school, at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, where she graduated with her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, in 2015. She has been practicing at Herrin Pediatric Clinic since graduation. Stefanie is a big kid at heart, and she loves caring for her patients and their families. In 2019, Stefanie had a fairytale wedding at Disney World, where she married her childhood friend, Chris.  She is the loving mother/absolute boy mom of two sons, Coltin and James.  Her whole family is involved in the AWANA program at church, and she is the Director of the AWANA Cubbies. She loves to spend time with her family and can often be found going on bike rides, playing outside, visiting different local parks, and swimming. Stefanie also loves to read, craft, and collect converse shoes (which is what she wears with everything).

Lisa Pamplin, FNP-C

Lisa Pamplin graduated with her Associates Degree of Nursing from North Harris Montgomery Community College District in 2000. She then worked for a total of 15 years in the Family Birthing Center at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital. Lisa went on to complete her Masters in Nursing through Walden University in 2016, graduating as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Lisa began her Nurse Practitioner career at a pediatric clinic in Magnolia, TX from 2017 to 2018 and was excited to join Herrin Pediatric Clinic in September 2018. Lisa believes the ability to show compassion and build a trusting relationship between the provider and parent/child is just as important as the medical aspect. She looks forward to building lasting relationships with the parents and children at Herrin Pediatric Clinic.

Lisa and her husband Barry live in Willis with their two children Collin and Krista, and their many fur babies. When Lisa is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the movies and reading a good book.

Important Clinic Update

Effective February 11, 2024, we have decided as a group to join Memorial Hermann Health System which will change our practice name to Children’s Memorial Hermann Pediatrics Conroe (CMHP Conroe). We will continue to see patients at our River Pointe office.

During this transition, the office will be closed from February 12 to February 16. We will strive to make this transition as smooth as possible. Beginning February 19, during your first visit back to our office, you will be asked to complete new patient paperwork and provide your ID and insurance card so your information can be entered into the Memorial Hermann records system. We thank you for your patience during our transition.

We will remain in network with most of the plans we are currently enrolled with (Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, Community Health Choice, Humana, Tricare, United Healthcare). If you have any questions please contact the office.

We look forward to seeing you at CMHP Conroe.
